Can I fix it?

I have 3 files in a task manager called svchost.exe, and
one of them is using my CPU constantly over 50%.
1. Why do I have 3 copies of the same file?
2. Can I do something to lower the CPU usage and verify
which file is necessary and which is corrupted?
When I tried to end the process I receive the error "RPC
service error" and the system shuts down automatically
after few seconds

Thank you in advance for your help.
Bye.

Hey there, your error is likely caused by a buffer overrun in rpcss.
This is almost the same type of error exploited by the blaster virus o
last summer although it mainly did buffer underrun exploits.

Regardless, download and install this update and you should be good t
go.

I'll give ya a little info ... one of the svchost's that are listed i
ther belong to the remote proceedure call ( RPC ) if you click t
remove or end that task then the system will shut down ! ... there is
patch that can be obtained to help you out ... the last time I saw thi
occure was a few months ago ! ... I't may take me a moment or two bu
I'll surely find the link for the patch for ya ...
Good thing is that you do not have a virus nor do you have any spywar
causing this issue ! so getting spybot and other spyware tools would b
useless to fix this issue also no need to run any type of anti viru
scan to fix this ... I'll be back
