My friends always send me powerpoint which contain a lot of nice
photos, is there any tools to extract them in to a directory so that I
can easily use that as wallpaper??

If you have the full version of PowerPoint (not the Viewer), you can open
the PowerPoint, right click on the picture and choose Save As Picture. If
you have a lot of pictures to save, you can save the presentation as a Web
page (*.htm) (not a single file Web page), and all the pictures will be
collected in a folder.

Would be easier, and give you a better result if you just asked your friend for a copy of the images.
