I want to share a database with someone in another state. We're tired of
snail-mailing memory sticks.

Hi there,

Either you're on a VPN with the other guy and you can share securely the
same database. I think Microsoft doesn't support VPN usage with this
software ; but there's no technical reason for this. I'm using it this way.
Or you can send some database export, zipped, protected by a strong
password, via any public sharing web site (so protect your file)

'Hope it helps

Thanks much, JM. We don't have a VPN, I barely know what it is. Could you
tell me a little more about how to zip and then export the database? This
non-technical person would very much appreciate a little hand holding!

Why dont you use the tools and Manage Database and either backup and send or
export and send the db via CD in snail mail or on memory stick or via
internet as an attachment if your mail will allow large files.

The files are not small but you would know how big the file is by looking at
your backup files you make every other day

I'd recommend exporting to a BCM file. Then compressing to a zip file
and mailing that.
