Can I edit the IE History folder?

Clearing out the whole History Folder (i.e. the dropdown
picklist in the address line of IE) is easy.

But can I just edit it, e.g. delete URLs or even resort
URLs in the dropdown picklist?

Where is the file/registry key/? located?

Can such a file/registry key/? be copied and pasted into
the appropriate place in another computer?

I work in a public library with a lot of public access
computers each using a local profile. What I put in before
I lock them down will stay untouched. Occasionally, I want
to edit my list and I would like to avoid having to wipe
out the entire list, recreate it, and then repeat the
process one workstation at a time.

Any help would be appreciated! Thanks.

you can't edit the history but you can delete individual
items just by right clicking on them in the history bar.
This won't completly remove all trace of them, you need to
go into tools,internet options,general,settings,view files
and delete them from there too.
If you typed the url in, it will still appear in the
dropdown box.
You need to go in to the registry and choose
HKEY_CURRENT_USER\Software\Microsoft\Internet
Explorer\TypedURLs and remove it from there
Happy surfing......
