Windows XP

I just bought a Sony DVD converter which converts all my old analog Super8
mm tapes to DVD. It's a stand-alone piece of hardware.
I get a DVD that can play in anyone's DVD player. I want to add titles,
chapters, and be able to edit out parts.

When I look at the DVD in Windows, I see a directory called Video_TS, and in
it I see files Video_TS.bup, Video_TS.IFO, VIDEO_TS.VOB, VTS_01_0.BUP,
VTS_01_0.ifo and vTS_01_1.VOB.

When I look at my options in MovieMaker, I don't see anything that looks
like it will be able to read and edit these files.

I'm not capturing anything. I can import the files, but MovieMaker doesn't
seem to know what to do with them.

Is this something movie maker can't do? I can't handle normal DVD files?

=================================
The VOB files are the actual video files...if
you copy them to a folder on your hard drive
and convert them to the .wmv format you can
import them into Movie Maker.

The following freeware can do the conversion.

(FWIW...it's always a good idea to create a System
Restore point before installing software or updates)

Format Factory
http://www.pcfreetime.com/
(FWIW...you may want to uncheck
all the boxes on the final screen)

After downloading and installing Format Factory...
open the program and choose an Output Folder...
(this is where you will find your files after they are
converted)

Drag/drop your audio/video clips onto the
main screen...

Select 'All to ???' / OK...
(the ??? represents your choice of format)

Click...Start...on the toolbar...

That should do it...

Good luck...

As John says you need to convert the vobs and make new menu's etc using dvd
authoring software.
