Can I delete/create additional partitions on USB sticks?

When I bought the last USB stick the stick was pre-formatted by factory with a single FAT32 partition.

I wonder wether it is possible to

a) delete this existing partiton ? How ?

and

b) create a new or even multiple new partitions on a single USB stick?

How can I accomplish this ?

Both are possible, Use Disk Management, right click my computer, select
manage, select disk management in the left pane.

Use the partition management utility of your OS.

On 'removable' drives Windows 2000 and higher support only
one partition. Therefore they have no mechanism for deleting
and creating partitions on such drives. If you erase the
first sector of the drive and reattach it, then you can
use Windows to format it as 'Superfloppy', without a
partition table but creating partition isn't supported.

You can use DOS or Linux to partition such drives but Windows
2000+ will see the first partition only.

Go to the computer management function (control panel, administrator
tools) and select Disk management.

I would expect this to work in the same way it does with 'normal'
drives'.

There is not problem just converting a memory chip to NTFS with the
Convert function, used form a DOS window.

As long as there is no data on the drive you need to keep...
just use disk management to delete the single partition...
then recreate as needed
 
Read the entire thread, it's not possible, I even tried it for S&G, disk
management will not allow you to delete the partition.
 
You can access the USB stick like any other drive on your system.
You may use FDISK, Partition Magic, QTparted, Etc. like usual.
You can also repartition the drive from within Windows, through Disk
Management.
Right-click My Computer on your desktop, choose Manage.
Navigate to Disk Manager, review your options there.
Make sure you know what you are doing; if you do not - read up on
Formatting and Partitioning first.
