Hi,

I would like to create several box sizes, and just insert a jpg in the
pre-sized box rather than inserting a jpg which covers my whole slide and
then has to be re-sized.

Is there a way to do this?

Thanks.

Yes, the details vary based on the version you are using, but the basic
idea is to create a box (using the drawing tools). You can then set the
background of that box to be a picture. In 2007, just go to Insert >
Shape and pick a rectangle. Draw the rectangle. Then go tot he Format
ribbon and choose Shape Fill. One of the options will be picture.

Double slide on the box to bring up Format AutoShape dialog box.
Under Fill, click on the Color dropdown menu and select Fill Effects.
Click Picture > Select Picture.
Look for the photo you want to insert, ok your way out.

Tammy1000,

Yes it is possible. How you do it varies slightly with PPT2003 and 2007.
Start with Right Click > Format Auto Shape...

If you need more help let me know.

Thanks for the directions. But these directions, don't seem to allow me to
create a box and then insert a photo in a created box, that I created prior
to inserting the photo. Is there any way to do this?

Just draw any box with the drawing tools. If you are using 2003 or
earlier, go to the View menu, choose Toolbars and check the option for
the Draw toolbar. You can then use the rectangle tool to draw the box.
If you are in 2007, go to the Insert ribbon and click on Shape. Choose
the rectangle tool from there.
