Can I copy a finished web page (Copy-paste) then alòter the copy to make a
similar but second one - or does this mess up the code?

Hello,
yes that is what I needed to know - I am still not sure what happens to the
code - for example if I 'save as' a page with a number of buttons on - then
change the buttons on the new page - I presume Frontpage eliminates form the
code of that page then reinserts what I put in - or do I end up 'filling up
the bin? as it were with endless non utilsed code?

Whatever you delete or change from the page gets changed in the code.
