Can Grow Property for Memo Field Problem

I am finding that the "Can Grow" property set to Yes on a
memo field requires an extremely long period for
formatting. I've had to Ctrl-Break after each instance,
once after leaving the reformatting over a lunch period.
Setting the property back to No brings the report in
immediately.

The report runs on a query. I haven't seen this problem
before. Any solutions?
 
Thanks for your response. No subreports, but did have
Page of Pages in the footer. Will try that.

Do you have a Page of Pages type control in your report? Are there memo
fields in subreports? Removing [Pages] may provide quite good improvement.
