Can grow...Can shrink

hey all,

i have an address block of labels on my report that have Can grow/Can shrink
properties set to yes. i noticed if i put any control to the right of the
block kinda on the same lines the Can grow /Can shrink doesn't work. But if I
take that control away it does work.

Is this normal?

Yep. You are essentially asking that entire horizontal band starting at the
top of your control and extending to the bottom of your control to shrink.
It can only do that if everything within that band shrinks.
