Can functions be used for input ranges in forms?

Hi,

This seemed like a good idea at the time, but it doesn't seem to be working.
What I wanted to do was have the available choices in a drop down box update
dynamically based on the value of a given cell. What I thought was, why not
use the Choose function, so the input range would be:
=CHOOSE(InputCell, ChoiceRange1, ChoiceRange2, ChoiceRange3).
Unfortunately, it is not working, and the input range vanishes when I reopen
the Format Control window. Am I doing something wrong, or can Excel just
not use a formula as an input range for a form control?

Thanks to anyone with a good answer...

Hi Brian,

That's what I ended up doing--just using the named range as the input range
for the form control. Still, it's an annoying extra step, if you ask me.

Thanks for your advice...
