What may be happening is that there is either a "hidden" or "read-only" file on the CD that you are trying to copy. That is preventing the 'copy to' function that you are try to do. Some Manufactures use these to prevent illegally copying of their products. You can try the following, but it might not still work for you.
1. Create/Name a folder on your HDD, that your plan to copy/paste the files/folders from the CD to.
2. Go to 'My Computer'> TOOLS> Folder Options> View tab> Select Show all files> Uncheck 'Hide known file extensions' & 'System files'. Make sure when you finish copying CD, to change back these setting to hide these files folder again.
3. Go to 'My Computer'> Right click the CD/DVD drive that has the CD in Select: Open.
4. Under EDIT> Press Select All> With the files/folders highlighted.
5. Under EDIT> Press "COPY"> Then go to the folder that you created, and paste the contents into that folder.
**After doing #2, you can attempt to do the copying method that you previously tried, by Showing All files you might accomplish what you want.
Also if you have a CD or DVD Burner, you can try using that software to burn the CD to a folder.

Please re-post and state what it is you are trying to accomplish. What kind
of disk, where do you wish to copy to? You don't give enough information for
anyone to have a chance to help you.
