Can DFS map root from many share links?
I might not even ask my question with the right terminologies.
Let me illustrate:

I have a W2K server (called W2K-ControllerA) as a controller that has
a share called SHARE-A and:
\\W2K-ControllerA\SHARE-A that has the following directories in it:
SHARE-A-DIR1\
SHARE-A-DIR2\
SHARE-A-DIR3\

I have a W2K server (called W2K-ServerB) as a member server that has a
share called SHARE-B and:
\\W2K-ServerB\SHARE-B that has the following directories:
SHARE-B-DIR4\
SHARE-B-DIR5\
SHARE-B-DIR6\

With DFS on the controller, can I make a DFS root (with DFS link
pointing to \\W2K-ServerB\SHARE-B) for user to map to so that this DFS
share contains the following folders?

SHARE-A-DIR1\
SHARE-A-DIR2\
SHARE-A-DIR3\
SHARE-B-DIR4\
SHARE-B-DIR5\
SHARE-B-DIR6\

It seems like all I can do is:
SHARE-A-DIR1\
SHARE-A-DIR2\
SHARE-A-DIR3\
SHARE-B\

Where SHARE-B\ has these folders:
SHARE-B-DIR4\
SHARE-B-DIR5\
SHARE-B-DIR6\

Am I missing something?

Thanks,
DC

Let me illustrate:

When you create a DFS link, that link becomes a child of the
root directory. If you want dir-4, dir-5 and dir-6 to be on the
same level as dir-1, dir-2 and dir-3, you will need to share dir-4,
dir-5 and dir-6 and link them individually to the DFS root.

Yes,

Check Microsoft's website for doc but the very point of DFS is the capacity to link many to one shares unto what seems to teh user one logical drive

I don't get what you said, Ann. Can you repeat?

It is the users who will create the directories - dir-4, dir-5, dir-6,
dir-7,....dir999 and so on. That means I have to sit there and watch
the creation of these directories and add them to the DFS share one by
one?

Any solution other than that?
