Can ASFRecorder still download media files ?

I just downloaded ASFRecorder V1.1 from web site and intend to use
this program to capture some media files.

I tried to connect one of the radio web site of my city and opened one
..asx file I knew from ASFRecorder. I had also registered .asx file to
this software. However, except receiving reply:200 - ok from its
status bar the software did nothing.

I also connected the software to one web site where there were mp3 to
download. I gave the software a complete path of that .mp3 file but
got the same reply as above.

I searched through the web and found some other people with similar
experience as me.

I would like to ask

1) what settings I missed ?
2) what settings the target web site must exhibit to enable
ASFRecorder work normal ?

Maybe write the author? (e-mail address removed)
Not sure this address is correct but its worth a try.
