I currently have Windows ME. Going to upgrade to XP
because I want to have Microsoft Word, Excel and Power
Poiont. I know I can do the upgrade. But does XP come with
the Office pkg. or do I purchase it separately? Or is it
available to d/l online?
I want the easiest and cheapest way to upgrade my computer
to XP and have the Office package. I'm tired of Microsoft
Works!!!!
Anyone with advice?

Neither the Microsoft Office application suite, nor any of its
individual component applications (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Access,
Outlook, etc.), have _ever_ been "part" of *any* Windows operating
system. They are, and always have been, separate applications, that
must be purchased and installed separately.

Although you *can* upgrade to XP, that's not a good reason to do
so. You can buy Office (containing Word, Excel, and PowerPoint)
and install it without going to XP.

No. Neither Windows XP nor any other version of Windows has ever
come with Office nor with any other significant application
software.

If you want Microsoft Office, you need to buy it.
