Can anyone recommend music editing software?

Nothing fancy, I just want to fade music in or out and maybe loop a section
over and over again. Ideally, it would be SUPER easy to use and present
itself in as non technical manner as much as possible.

I want something to help me prepare non commercial slide shows of my
photography.

mp3directcut is very easy, and because it works with mp3s instead of raw
waves it doesn't take as much memory or processor power.
I don't have a link for it but google does.
