Can anyone interpret this Stop Error?

I’ve upgraded to Vista Ultimate, and when using the burn to CD or DVD, I get
the following stop error:

STOP 0X00000124 (0X00000000, 0X855B2A10, 0X00000000, 0X00000000)

I currently don’t have any other burning software. My computer is from DELL
(XPS 600) And my DVD writer is a PHILIPS DVD+-RW DVD8801 ATA. I can’t seem
to find any drivers for this on the Dell site or the manufacturer site.
I can’t tell if it’s a hardware of software problem.

I’ve had success in burning CDs when I was in XP using iTunes but I guess I
never tried burning other data before. I don't have any other burning
software.

Would like friendly advice before trying to hit customer support on both
Dell and Microsoft end…because for some reason, I feel they’re going to tell
me to talk to the other.

Yes, they surely will. So, start with Microsoft; ask them what is stop 0x124,
because it is not listed yet where most of other stop codes are listed.
Having this reply, contact Dell.

Good luck,
