Does anyone know how I can delete the references to
previously visited internet sites? Tools, Internet
Options, Clear History only clears the list of previously
visited sites in the address line.

When I begin to type a new address in, like "www ..." my
computer shows alphabetically lots of sites previously
visited. How can I delete those references?

I would be very grateful if anyone can help. Thank you!

Tools > Internet Options > Advanced: under Browsing, disable "Use inline AutoComplete". Click on Apply & OK buttons.

That should stop the action, but the previous URLs are probably stored in the registry. Search and destroy.
