I am new to windows excel and i am typing in column 'A' the following;

08 001
08 002
08 003
Now, rather than type this out 958 times downwards, is there a way of
getting it to fill automatically rather than typing it in please ?

I tried clicking the bottom left hand corner and scrolling down but all i
got was this;

08 001
09 001
10 001
and so on.

Can anyone tell me how to make it automatically put the next number in
please ?
Mind you, thats if it can be done ? Bearing in mind i am not computer
literate so please, no quantum physic type answers or my brain cell will
explode !

Thank you all for looking

try typing in "08 001 in the first cell, fill down using the fill handle on
the bottom right of the cell and fill series. Then use find & replace an
replace " leaving the replace cell blank and select replace all.

or

format the cell to the custom format "08" 000. put 1 in the first cell and
fill down then select fill series

I do live in the UK so how about that pint then? - The Ice hockey team I
support should give you an indication of where I live
