Can ADC work with out the help of DC

hi,

Can an Additional Domain Controller(ADC) work independently in a
network with out contacting Domain Controller(DC) in Windows 2003
Environment. i want to remove an ADC and put in an independent network,
where it is not necessary for the ADC to contact DC. is it possible.

No, not for the same domain. They need to be in contact
at least once per week (as far as I know this is the practical
limit for being out of communication.)

And there is no ADC, just DCs.

You need some way (even dial up or time-specific satellite)
for them to talk at least once a week to replicate any changes
if it is the same domain (or really even the same forest.)
 
ADC in Microsoft talk is the Active Directory Connector and is used for
Exchange and absolutely requires a DC...

Sounds like you mean a domain controller... And you are asking if a
domain controller can work without talking to another domain controller.
If the domain controller is part of a domain or forest with other domain
controllers, it should be able to contact them. If the domain controller
is the only DC in a domain, it doesn't need to talk to other domain
controllers.
