Hi,

I want to be able to have a user click a button and read about the features
in the database. Is it possible to load a text file or other document type
into Access and be able to display the contents in Access?

Arvin,

I couldn't get the code to work from
http://www.mvps.org/access/api/api0018.htm
but it's ok because I used a hyperlink which allows me to run other files
outside of Access. The only thing though is this corny warning message that
appears when I click the hyperlink which says:

"Hyperlinks can be harmful to your computer and data."

I'm only opening a .rtf file for goodness sake. I have to figure out how to
suppress that warning message because it may scare people into thinking
they're computer is at risk.

Thank you though for your reply and post Arvin.

Arvin,

Came up with a better result. I first created a Word Pad file and formatted
the headings and text. Then I added an OLE Unbound text box to a form and
then copied and pasted the text from my Word Pad document into it. Then I set
the OLE text box size mode to Zoom and resized it setting the backcolor to
white and forecolor to black. Underneath the OLE text box is a lable that I
also formatted the same as the text box but sized it larger and gave it some
shadow so that it appears as a border around the OLE text box. I then added
a small graphic of an arrow pointing right with text that reads "Close" that
closes the form.

Now I have a beautifully formatted page that opens in Access and it loads
quick with no error messages. It looks awesome and I wish I could post it
here for others to learn how to create beautifully formatted pages to run in
Access.
