I need to have Access 97 and Access 2002 both on a Windows XP machine. The
machine currently has Access 2002 installed.

1) Is this possible?

2) If so, what are the steps to doing so?

Thanks,

Tim Rogers

I've done it often, so long as you use different directories ...

C:\Program Files\Microsoft Office 97\
and
C:\Program Files\Microsoft Office 2k\
and
C:\Program Files\Microsoft Office xp\

I usually install them in order: A97 first, A2k next, then AXP

When I recently was forced to add A97 after the fact, I ran
into that font issue, but a quick look at the newsgroup led me
to the solution.

All the same, I don't usually have any trouble and I've never
had the various versions corrupt each other. The only pain is
that Windows remembers the last version you used and when
you double click an mdb file, that version is used, whether or
not it's correct. So, I use shortcuts to commonly used mdb files
with a reference to the right version of Access to use.

I've deliberately installed them out of order a number of times and
have only ever had the font problem.

Also see ACCVER - Allows you to work with multiple versions of MS
Access databases. Detects the version of Access used to create your
MDB, MDE or MDA files and either reports the version number or starts
the appropriate version of MS Access. www.aylott.com.au/software.htm
