Can a W2003 AD domain be in a W2000 AD forest?

Can a current standalone, single W2003-based forest domain
co-exist and functionally integrate into another W2000-
based forest implementation?

The architecture of the W2000-based AD will be a single
forest with an empty root domain. Can the existing W2003-
based AD forest domain be migrated as a W2003 domain into
the new W2000-based forest, and sit as either a second
level domain (directly beneath the empty W2000-based
forest root), or a third level domain sitting within a
second level W2000 domain that is part of this new W2000-
based forest?

You can run the Windows 2003 Forest Prep tool without
upgradng to 2003 and that should make the 2000 Enterprise
ready for a 2003 Server/Domain structure, in fact from
what I can see you can get almost all the functionality
of a 2003 domain in this manner without actually buying
it. Having said that I have only done it in my home
network of 6 PCs and once my 60 Day trial period ran out
I had to delete my 2003 Sub-Domain.
