Can a USB to Firewire cable tranfer DV from Camcorder to PC?

My camcorder has a firewire port, but my computer has USB 2.0 only. I
heard USB 2.0 has fast connection up to 480M/sec. I found a lot of USB
to Firewire cable on ebay, which has USB on one end and firewire 4 pin
at other end, and it claim can connect the camcorder to the PC. Any
advice on this?

much simpler to buy a firewire card and install it in your pc. Last I looked
these cables were about £49. I bought a firewire card and cable for my Dad,
£12.99.
