Can a Movie Maker File Be Opened in WMP???

Hello All:

Is there an update that allows an MSWMM file to opened in WMP?

Hi there,

Exactly what format is this Movie Maker 2 file in? In general if you can
import a file into movie maker 2, then you can also play it in media
player, or are you referring to the file that describes a project in Movie
Maker, that file has the extension mswmm, but it is NOT a video or audio
file.

You need to use Movie Maker to "Save To File" your project before you can
open it in Media Player.

Can I suggest that you look at the help file for Movie Maker, in particular
the first three sections of same which are, "Getting Started",
"Understanding Windows Movie Maker" and "Using Windows Movie Maker"

I think the MSWMM file only holds your project settings, there is nothing to
view. In the same directory there should be WMV files that you can open with
WMP9.

filename.MSWMM is your project

you need to "save movie" to render out filename.WMV to play in WMP
