Can a 8xAGP video card be used in a 4xAGP slot?
I'm told that the voltage might be different.
My motherboard is able to be set to 4x for the AGP slot, but I might
change my motherboard later so an 8x card might be a better choice if
I can use it in a 4X AGP slot.

Regards Brian

It'll probably depend on your mobo, but I'm using an ATI 9800 (8xAGP) in a
Gigabyte GA-81TXR (4xAGP) mobo.

One can assume that graphic card manufactures are smart enough
to make their card work on as many motherboards as possible.
I would assume that 99% of the current 8X cards will work on a 4x board.
My ATI 9600 AIW PRO say 8X/4X right on the box

It depends on the video card, but generally, yes.

Yes, no problems... and no loss of performance either.

Dont worry about it.
