Can 2 IE versions be installed on 1 PC?

For testing purposes, a web guy wants to install IE 6 on a
machine that already has 5.5. He wants to be able to use
either version independently of the other. Can this be
done without problems?

It can't be done at all except with separate bootable partitions.
 
Only if you have dual boot with two window 98 installed in different
partition, one with ie 5.5 and the other with ie6.
