Campaigns....

I would like to do the following:

Create Campaign A, B & C.
I meet Buyer X, put them in contacts, assign campaign A.
So Now Buyer X will receive emails every 30 days from the time I entered
them into contacts.
Somewhere down the line I want to change that campaign from A to B.
So on and So on.

The campaigns, for example, are for a A. potential buyer, B. buyer, C. buyer
under contract.

Now everyday that I open outlook each buyer will be at a different email in
the system and will be on diferent days.

This is also a drip campaign. For One person. Not for a group and Its not a
one time use. Its on going.

What version of Outlook are you using?

You can use categories to assign contacts to different levels (A, B, C).
Sending the e-mails to a category of people isn't that hard, but it
would be hard to track which Category A person got a message 30 days ago
versus 25 days ago versus 17 days ago, etc.

Before we go too far with this, are you going to have consent from these
prospects and buyers to send them e-mail every 30 days? Otherwise it
sounds like a good way to get yourself blacklisted as a spammer; and
that won't be good for business. :-)

I'm not too concerned with getting blacklisted because The email would go out
to less than 100 people.

That being said, I don't understand why MS has not set up something like
this.
I understand that i could create Category A and then send them an email and
put them on the same campaign. But that would defeat the purpose of creating
letters in a particular order.

Why can't MS incorporate this? There are a number of companies already doing
this but i do not wish to buy their product because I'm not able to synch the
info with my PDA.

It is a simple process that they could build:
Have a holding area for a campaign
Then have a drop down menu in the Contact that you can pick which campaign
you would like to start with that particular contact.

There is a major need for this.
 
You can get blacklisted sending e-mail to 3 people. It just takes
enough of them to complain and report you to a spamlisting authority.

MS hasn't set up anything like this because it's not a very common
request and BECAUSE of the massive push-back against e-mail marketing
the value of a feature like this is increasingly limited.

That said...

The easiest solution is to do your campaign mailings on specific dates
instead of specific intervals. If you don't want to do it that way then
you'd probably need to incorporate a custom field in which you enter
(either manually or with custom code) the date of last mailing. Then
you'd need to script the ability to read that field, calculate the delta
and send the appropriate message at the appropriate time.

I forgot I am using outlook 2007.

And Yes i have permission to send these people emails. I am not a spammer.
These are personal contacts.

Yes I have been to slipstick and its not what I'm looking for.

Question: Who could i contact directly to talk to about the implementation
of this request?

I"m not a programmer but I am curious if you wanted to have an add on for MS
Outlook what programing language would you want to use?

Well, there may not be anybody you can talk to DIRECTLY about it - but
you can go to Connect (https://connect.microsoft.com/default.aspx) and
submit it as a request. If they like the idea somebody might contact
you or they might just run with it on their own.

You might also take a look at Business Contact Manager
(http://office.microsoft.com/en-us/contactmanager/FX101674171033.aspx)
and see if it will do what you want. (or can be more easily customized
to do it)

I think the it's because that unless you're using the BCM additon to
Outlook, it's not really a business contact manager. I don't know anything
about BCM's abilities, but ask your question in microsoft.public.outlook.bcm
and see if that feature has the ability you want.

Please try our email scheduler (http://www.repeatmail.com) which will allow
you to send multiple individual emails, html or plain text, with
attachments, either as a one-off or regularly at a specified time and
interval. The recipients list can be drawn from your Outlook Contacts, a
plain text file,database or spreadsheet. It also allows you to specify the
interval between each send so as to avoid triggering any spam limits on your
account. Outlook is not needed to send. Your machine needs to be switched
on, but you don't even have to be logged in. Works with Win
98/XP/2003/Vista

I would create 3 campaign projects, then, e.g Campaign A's recipients is
drawn from your Outlook contacts that have Category "Campaign A", Campaign
B's recipients is drawn from your Outlook contacts that have Category
"Campaign B", etc.

Outlook is a personal information manager, not a campaign manager but there
are a couple of addins that do what you want. see
http://www.slipstick.com/addins/contact_management.asp - I believe prophet
does it. There are other campaign and workflow managers listed also. I
don't recall if BCM can do this.
