Camera USB worked and now it doesn't PnP

Got a nasty virus and Symantec had to remotely remove it. Seems they did
something to the PnP options. Camera, iPod, CD drive, nothing seems to work.
It's all there but not automatic. Help!

try a system restore back to the point prior to the virus

What's with the system restore? I've never used it and have had this Gateway for 8 years. Will that restore the system and keep anything created after the restore point?

it will set your system back to that date

but any data you have created will not be lost
