camera and photos

I have a Canon A70 camera that takes great pictures. The thing I want to do
is take pictures from a distance of between 100 ft. and 600 ft. When I take
pictures and zoom in it makes the pictures not good. Can someone recommend
either a way to make them better or do I need a different lens on the
camera. If a lens what kind.

Thanks, I talked to Canon tech support. He suggested to
first try setting the camera at the highest resolution,
and digital and optical zoom. See if they can be cropped
and zoomed and look better before buying a different lens.
