I hope someone has an answer for this. Whenever I try to make a phone call
from my contacts, nothing happens. I used to be able to dial from my old
computer using Windows ME. Now I have a new computer with Vista and can't
seem to solve the problem. For some reason it leaves out the second & third
digits of the area code. I have it set to dial the area code. Any
suggestions would be greatly appreciated.

What program are you using to Dial. I have no idea about these programs that let you dial out by telephone from your contacts. Maybe it is not compatible with Windows Mail. Check with the program maker for your Telephone Dialing connection

may make a difference in the area code on how you brought the contacts over.
importing the wab file sometimes loses some data.
it is best to export from the XP Address book as CSV being sure to check off all the boxes for what fields to export.
then import that CSV file to WM Contacts.

regarding the phone call.
do not see option in WM Contacts to make call. what program were you using, and expect to continue to use.
looking again, found the CALL option. right click on contact name, select Action and the CALL options comes up.
since I imported a CSV file for my contacts cannot see the problem you describe.
mine shows the COMPLETE area code.
