Ever since I installed the 3.10 cat's, Now when I go into a game I get a
very dark screen,, But if I go to tun the briteness up, all I have to do is
touch the slider and bam!
It's brite without ever having to slide the bar..
Anyone else getting this? Thanks.

I too have recently installed the 3.10s but my brightness was not
affected (or is that effected). I did a careful uninstall and ran Driver
Cleaner 2 before the install. I have an Asus 9600XT.

My brightness was affected a few times, but not at start up. It was
something that i did during the game. I've been restarting it, but now i
know i don't have to! Thanks

I should say I only see this in Call Of Duty and MOH.
I have installed, and uninstalled drivers many times in the past and never
have seen this before... Thanks everyone for your help..>

I reformatted without saving my "saves" in CoD, got a buddy to email me the
saves he had so I didn't have to replay to get to where I was, and I
suddenly had the same problem appear where i hadn't had it before. So I
edited the config file with wordpad to change this file to 1 (on):
seta r_ignorehwgamma "0"

Then I launched the game, saw it much lighter again, played a second, shut
down, set it back to 0 and relaunced and the problem seems to be fixed.
Also while in the file I suggest the folowing:

seta com_hunkmegs "256" , default is 128 and setting it to grab 256 stopped
a stutter I had (did the same for rtcw a while back to stop stuttering). In
both cases I had 512mb system ram.

seta g_spSkill "3" - this line lets you adjust the skill level in the middle
of the game, which I had to do because my buddy was playing on an easier
level than I like.

As usual, rename the eixisting file to save it prior to messing around with
it. And maybe try changing the gamma setting in the file if the first fix
doesn't work.

Cheers,

Mike

do you have adobe products on your machine ...that have loaded the 'adobe gamma loader' with an older version?
