you'll find help here...nice to see someone admit that there....well...GOOD
LUCK....and do some searches right here in the newsgroups...lot of great
info...

Hi,

Type 'msconfig' in the Run box and a window will pop up.
Click on the Startup tab and deselect the programs you
don't want to automatically start.

Regards,

Tim

First-try the programs options and see if they have
anything to stop it.
Second- start/run/msconfig
go to the startup tab and uncheck what you do
not want to start up. Reboot. And then when you get the
box after reboot choose (I think this is right but cant
remember the exact wording) the option to now show this
message again.
Its always best to try and stop the program from within
itself if possible.

Each "user" including "all users" has a program folder and
each folder has a "startup" folder which starts programs
when you logon.

Some programs are started when you boot the computer by
"msconfig"

You can remove a program from the startup folder list,
disable the program in msconfig, or disable processes using
the "task manager" [use ctrl/alt/del] to open the task
manager..

See www.blackviper.com for info on customizing XP programs
and processes.

Greetings --

In most cases, with "well-mannered" applications, it's usually as
simple as opening the undesired program and deselecting the option to
"display icon in the system tray" or to "start when Windows starts."

Additionally, Look in the C:\Documents and Settings\All
Users\Start Menu\Programs\Start Up and C:\Documents and
Settings\username\Start Menu\Programs\Start Up folders, and in the
system registry, primarily in the
HKLM\SOFTWARE\Microsoft\Windows\CurrentVersion\Run and
HKCU\SOFTWARE\Microsoft\Windows\CurrentVersion\Run keys.
