In the outlook calendar is there a way to mark appointments as busy and not
allow another appointment to be scheduled during the same time?

Thanks,
Joe

Hello Joe,

Thank you for your post.

When creating an appointment in Outlook Calendar, by default the "Show time
as" status will be set to busy.

To prevent creating another appointment at the same time, you can try the
following method:

1. Tools->Options.
2. Click the "Calendar Options" button.
3. Click the "Resource Scheduling" button.
4. Configure the settings on this dialog.
5. Click OK

I hope the above information helps. Thank you for using our news group!

Hi,

When I configure the resource scheduling settings it does prevent meetings
from being scheduled at the same time, but I can still schedule appointments
at the same time.

Any other ideas?

Thanks,
Joe

.
Joe,
When you double-click your specific appointment on your
calendar, you should see another screen pop up to let you
put in your appointment subject and location and designate
a specific time for this appointment. After that you
should have a reminder selection if you'd like one and to
the right of that is should say,"Show Time As:" if you
click on the bottom drop down button it should give you a
choice to show time as the following: Free; Tentative;
Busy or Out of Office. If you mark busy and in the future
try to schedule something at that specific time again a
message window will appear and inform you that it
conflicts with another one of your appointments. Hope this
helps.

Thanks,

Hi,

Thank you for your update.

The steps can block a meeting request at the same time. However, we are
still able to create appointments. In this scenario, Outlook prompts that
"Conflicts with another appointment on your Calendar" to remind us that
there are several appointments at the same time. This is by-design feature.

I hope the above information helps. Thank you for using our news groups.
