I need a very simple thing. I want to see the calendar in monthly view, click
on the date that I wish, and then be able to simply type in whatever I want
without fields, etc. Ijust want to be able to click on a date, and type in
whatever I want, (such as a poem, or long notes to myself.) I don't want to
get stuck in all the little details, such as tasks, appointments, etc. plain
and simple.

not possible in any version of Outlook, which you failed to include.

That's what "Notes" are for. A calendar is for making, tracking, and
responding to specific appointments. Use the notes for your poems and
disjointed thoughts.

or journal... can use Posts too. If a monthly grid view is important, make
a custom view.
