We have a limited amount of space on our Exchange server for each user, so I
try to keep you inbox size down, My calendar size is larger than my inbox.
Do I really have to go in and clean out our calendar folders? Some of the
things in our calendars are recurring and some are things we may need to
reference later.

You could certainly clean out the past events, since they're history.
Display your calendar in a table view like By Category and clean out the old
stuff you don't need any more.

Archive your older items to a .pst file on your local drive and select the
option to delete them after archiving.

After furious head scratching, Michele Tuero asked:

I followed the archive instructions - but the size of the Calendar box did
not change and all appointments are still there. I'm using Office 2003 SP2.
Any suggestions?
