Calendar seems to be running twice and my PC freezes

A few seconds after I open Outlook, my PC freezes. Norton Utilities tells me
that Outlook is usoing 99% of my system and that Calendar is operating twice.
I have already removed and re-installed Outlook - more than one and it
doesn't help.
I am running Windows XP Professiuonal.

Perhaps something is keeping it open when you think it has closed. See
