Calendar recurring appointments

I set up a new appointment that I have every alternate
week on a Tuesday. Checking all the correct boxes etc.
When I save and exit, I find that the appointment has been
added to every day of the calendar from the inception of
the arrangement onwards. I have tried many combinations
to fix this function but none seem to work.
At one time it worked perfectly, but something has
happened to it and I can't get it working again as it
should. Does anyone know if I could have corrupted a file
or an index and if so what would be the best corrective
action.

PS I have already tried running the MS Outlook 'Help;
Detect and Repair option'

Tech info
MS Outlook 2002 (10.4712.4219) SP-2

PS I have already sent this post to the Group, but had no
response - possibly because I included all the technical
information about my software and hardware environment,
which made the file VERY slow to open as it was LARGE. I
have omitted this extra data to allow quick opening of
this post. If you need the extra data please see my post
of 25th September 2:53am "Can't set up bi monthly
appoinmtment"

Can you tell us *exactly* what settings you used for the recurrence?

Hi Sue,
Thanks for replying to me (I was starting to give up
hope); here's what I do:
1-Open Calendar and view by Month
2-Click 'New Recurring Appointment'
3-Settings are:Check Weekly:Start 10:00 End 10:30 Duration
30 mins:Change'Recur every 1 week to every 2 weeks' and
Start Wednesday 1/10/2003:No End Date
4-Click OK then fill in Subject e.g. Meeting - Jane and
put Location as Portsmouth
5- Select Label as Travel Required to make it appear in
Blue on the Calendar and Click Save and Close
6- Check Calendar and the appointment shows from every day
of every week from 1/10/03 onwards
7- If I open the appointment and remove the recurrence so
it just shows on the 1/10/03 all looks as I would expect
for a single appointment. Again adding the recurrence as
above adds the appointment to every day from 1st onward
Thaks in advance
Dave

Dear Sue,
Further to my original query dated 26 sept 2003 @ 1:52PM,
to which you kindly responded, I do have a second profile
in Outlook, where the Calendar works exactly as expected,
I can set up alternate week appointments , alternate
monthly appointemnts etc. so It looks as thought I have
damaged my default Calendar. Is there a way to export the
good stuff, reset the calendar and reimport the data?
