Calendar Label Color in Group Schedule

B

Bob Wardlow

We are considering the purchase of Exchange and Outlook
2002 for group scheduling. On the individual calendars we
would like to use the label color feature to show what
type appointment the person is scheduled for. We then
would like to combine many user schedules into a group
schedule but we need the label color/appointment type to
show in the group schedule. Will the label color appear on
the group schedule? It looks like the group schedule only
has 4 color choices blue, blue/white, purple, and
white/grey.

This purchase will be several thousand dollars and this
function is important to us.

Thanks in advance for your help,

Bob

No. The built-in "group schedule" feature in Outlook displays the schedule in specialized version of the Outlook appointment form's Scheduling tab. This display does not support color labels. Instead, it color codes the appointment status (Busy, Tentative, etc.).

Color labels apply only in the day/week/month views of a calendar folder. You might want to look at tools that can collate information from individual schedules into one calendar folder or one custom color-coded calendar display. See http://www.slipstick.com/calendar/scheduleall.htm
