Is it possible to get Windows Calendar to appear in gadgets bar?

(It seems a pleasant place to have appointments and To Dos to appear)

Currently there is no Windows Sidebar gadget which supports this
functionality, however I'd imagine that one could be created.

Have a nice day,

Hi,

No, but it would be a good suggestion. The sidebar has its own calendar
gadget, but it's unrelated to the Windows Calendar.

I've always wondered why Microsoft didn't decide to integrate the Calendar
gadget with the Windows Calendar application itself. It would have made a
lot of sense and made the gadget a lot more useful.

There's a reason the gadgets that come with Vista are not very useful.
They're simply designed to acclimate you to the sidebar gadget functionality
while 3rd party partners write commercial gadgets.

Think about what the side bar is for. Many people who like gadgets like
WeatherBug etc. that attach themselves to the notification area of the
taskbar have run out of room for installing more spyware "gadgets". The
SideBar opens up a whole new world of installable "free" utilities. It is,
relative to the notification area, a huge expanse of marketing real estate
on your PC. Just remember that free utilities are seldom free. And the
cooler they look, the more costly they are in terms of personal information
collected and used for profit by the creator of the gadget.

I agree, it would have made sense to integrate them into one product. I
suspect the teams working on those two features never spoke to each other.

The RSS gadget needs work too.

I think subscribing to a new RSS feed is best done in IE7, but it doesn't
mark feeds as read properly. So I get them fed to Outlook 2007 (It would
have been nice if Windows Mail could also so this). It's a good way to read
feeds, but it needs futher work too.

But the gadget doesn't only show unread feeds. It shows them all. The
whole RSS thing in Vista is not developed very well either.
