calendar events not updating immediately

Using workgroup/corporate outlook 2000 SR1 9.0.0 (4527)
with Exchange 2000 sp3.
When I send invitation email for meeting to user, her
calendar does not reveal the update until she accepts the
invitation. When she sends me an invitation, by calendar
is updated before I accept or decline.
Not sure why this is occuring. Any assistance would be
appreciated. Thank you.
 
You may have enabled Automatic accept from the Tools > Options > Calendar
Options > Resource Scheduling.
 
Yes, I considered that option and checked the settings on
my outlook and the recipient's outlook. We both do not
have that option checked (Tools | Options | Calendar
Options | Resource Scheduling | Automatically accept
requests and meeting cancellations).
