Calendar event error

An event was set in January 2006 NOT to re-occur, just a plain simple event.
Now every day when I login I get an error message that says the event has
occured and I choose "Dismiss" then I receive an error message that is cannot
be deleted because the end date and start date have passed. This is happening
on Exchange 2003 running Outlook XP client

Can you temporarily set your clock time back to the beginning of the year
and delete the event?

Been there done that, even no show up. According to MS QB article I am
having to call MS direct

Apparently the event was created on Exchange 5.5 and now the users have been
migrated over to Exchnage 2003. Any suggestions?Please
