No. Outlook Express and Office Outlook are tweo completely separate
applications with differing capabilities. Outlook Express can process email
and newsgroups. It has no calendaring or task management features. If you
want a calendar in an Outlook Express environment, the INternet has many you
can download. Alternatively, you can use Outlook instead.

in my other msg (subject=outlook) i have written the errors that i

Sorry. There are so many messages whose subject is just "outlook" that
there's no good way for me to locate that. Perhaps if you had used a more
distinctive subject it would have been possible.

I recieve these msgs when i try to use (Office 2003's) Outlook....

----------------------------------
Task 'Gmail - Receiving' reported error (0x80040900) : 'The server
name you entered can not be found on the network (it might be down
temporarily). Please verify that you are online and that the server
name is correct.' ---------------------------------
Task 'Gmail - Sending' reported error (0x800CCC7D) : 'Your outgoing
(SMTP) server does not support SSL-secured connections. If
SSL-secured connections have worked in the past, contact your server
administrator or Internet service provider (ISP).'
------------------------------------

These messages are pretty clear. The first indicates that the server name
you're using can't be found. Either there is a networking issue, a domain
name service issue, or you've not specified the server name correctly. If
you use nslookup at a command prompt, does the server name resolve?

The second indicates you have the "Use SSL" option checked in the account
settings. DIsable it and see what happens.
