My computer went funky recently -- e-mail (Eudora)
wouldn't work right, desktop icons disappeared, and
the "All Programs" thing from the start button went from
huge to mini. I have the e-mail working right (I hope),
and the desktop icons are back: now the only thing is
that I still have a mini "All Programs." One of the most
vexing things is that I have no calculator.

Also, the search function doesn't work: you type in the
search, hit "search," and it (that damn dog) just stares
at you and doesn't do anything.

Anybody else have this issue?

Try this; can't hurt. This ix an altered quote from a post I saved about
this...

Go to Control panel>Add or Remove Programs>Add/Remove Windows
Components, and select the Calculator from the Accessories and
Utilities category. Click Details to get a list of components in each
category. If Calculator isn't checkmarked, mark it.

When you've made all your selections, just OK your way out and WinXP will
install it.

Hope this works.
