I upgraded to Windows XP Professional a few weeks ago and
I cannot seem to find the calculator at all.

Does anyone know where I could download it, or how to
recover it?

Thanks

Did you install it?

Check here .... contol panel>add or remove programs>add/remove windows
components>accessories and utilities>accessories>calculator "check the box"

It should have installed by default when XP was set up and should appear on
the start menu under accessories. If it is not there, you might have
accidentally deleted the shortcut. Open Explorer and do a search for
calc.exe. If nothing appears, for one reason or another it would appear not
to be installed.

It doesn't appear in Add/Remove Windows Components under Add/Remove programs
because it is installed as a part of the "Accessories" package. Hence, you
might try the following, open Add/Remove Programs in Control Panel, click
Add/Remove Windows Components, if Accessories and Utilities is not checked,
check it click next and follow the screens. If it is checked, uncheck it
click next, follow the screens, then check it and do the same, this should
reinstall the Accessories package. You may be asked for your XP CD.

To check if Calculator is installed on your system go
START>RUN and type "calc.exe" (that might be "calcs.exe")
if it runs when you do this then it is installed on your
system and only the shortcut has been deleted.

You might have inadvertently removed the .exe file from the system so check
by doing a file search for calc.exe in the system 32 folder or by trying
calc.exe in the run box.

If it is missing you can retrieve it from the XP cd by using the "expand"
command for more help use expand /?

%SystemRoot%\System32\calc.exe

From my Search, I found the application is in WINDOWS > system32. I typed
calc.exe in the "All or part of the file name" line upon selecting "All
files and Folders". If not found this way, it's probably not installed. If
it IS there, create shortcuts and place where wanted, like in the Start menu
folder.
