I'm a Newbie - and I have a spreadsheet with multiple event(s) start times
and stop times... What I want to extract (& calculate) is the Total time
(Stop - Start : in 24 hr time) and and be able to sort that time total data
by DATE - multiple events may have occurred on the same date. .Can you
explain step by step?

Spreadsheets are Excel stuf. This news group is for Access, a relational
database that is part of Microsoft Office Proffessional.
Which is the top level sort - Dates or Totals?

If you have the data in Access then what is the table and field structure?
Post sample data and how you would like for the results to look.
 
Yes - I know but going to use the excel data to build acess table - have one
already in order to do the following:

Top Level Sort = "Date"

The (3) data info categories I want to pull able from out from table (in
access) are:
1. Total distance
2. Total time (that I need to calculate as explained from difference in (2)
separate columns)
3. Total amount delivered

all on a single date in tme...
