Calculating days it took to complete a task

I am using Access 97 and need to write a query to
calculate turnaround time for completing work. My problem
is that I don't know how to not include weekend in my
count. For example, if I wrote a query to find out how
many assignments were done within 2 days of assignment, I
would write the following <=[Assigned_Date]+ 2.

How can I correctly calculate this without including
weekend days, which would throw off the true turnaround
time? If something was assigned Friday and completed
Monday - I would not want it calculated as taking 3 days
because it counted Saturday and Sunday. Thanks for any

You will need to use a user defined function to do the calculation. You can
call this function from the field in the query. You will find an example of
what you need here.
