Calculate # of reccurrence such as 5th anniversary

Other calendar programs calculate Birthdays and Anniversaries from the
inception date - why doesn't Outlook?

Because other calendar programs do. Outlook has to distinguish itself
somehow, right?

Besides, it leaves room for third parties to come up with solutions like

Interesting though that Microsoft Windows Mobile Calendar already does this
out of the box.
