I'm looking for recommendations for a CAD application that I can use to draw
up some floor plans. Any ideas appreciated.

OK I glanced at some of those and some others I found. Grabbed CadStd Lite
and will give it a test run. Does anyone have enough experience to give a
yea or nay on some of the other CAD applications out there?

Along with CadStd you might also check out
QCAD and TurboCAD LE from that same list ....
http://www.freecad.com/cgi-bin/dcd/html/CAD_Programs___General_Purpose/
QCAD is somewhat similar to CadStd Lite,
but is also available for platforms
other than Windows ....
TurboCAD LE is about a 15 MB download,
but a very nice program and bit more
loaded funtion-wise than the other two
mentioned here ....

Cous Stanley,
Thanks for the advice. I will test drive those 2 also.
RedFox said:A year or two ago a CAD prog that was a professional version in the 1990s
was released to the public as a freebee. It was called Cadvance, Should come
up in a search. Good program but the file naming is a bit dated - limited
to 8.3, if I remember correctly.
Have fun!

anything about running under my OS, Windows XP, so I'm a little hesitant to
install in. Don't need my system hosed today, thank you. But I guess I
could just set a restore point and jump in the deep end
Anyone have any insight into this dilemma?
