Caching of network passwords

When i access a computer on the LAN, generally i enter a username and pwd. i am unable to save these as there isnt any box to check(unlike some of my friends computers which enable them to save these passwords)
Any help would be greatly appreciated
 
Hi Arjun,

Are you running Windows XP Home Edition? If so, this is by design. You can
only store credentials for network resources on Windows XP Professional.
